Ahead of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, an incident has led to intense security arrangements for the game. 20 members of the Akhilesh Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha conducted a ‘havan’ obstructing the road near the stadium to protest against the alleged mistreatment of Hindus in Bangladesh. In the wake of this, the Police have laid out a fool-proof plan during the game.
Rakesh Mishra, Vikas, Atul, Jaydeep, Vikas Gupta, Prashant Dheer, Ajay Rathore, Ashish, Brajesh, and roughly ten more unnamed people are among the miscreants whose names were listed in the FIR.
For those who don’t know, Bangladesh is now going through a difficult time where minority students have taken to leading rallies because they feel marginalised, which has caused political unrest throughout the nation. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander of Kanpur stated that the police force, including senior rank officers, are prepared to guard the event as the city gets ready to host the cricket team from Bangladesh.

According to TOI, ACP Chander stated, “We are reviewing the security arrangements to leave no stone unturned and (are) confident of getting an adequate police force to meet the requirements.”
In order to defuse any lead that could jeopardise security, Chander further stated that the police are in contact with both federal and state authorities, such as the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and state intelligence.

Shrawan Kumar Singh, the District Commissioner of Police (East), has been designated as the nodal officer for the security of the India-Bangladesh match. According to him, sectors, zones, and sub-zones have been established for Green Park Stadium and Hotel Landmark. The ACP, extra DCP rank officers, and the DCP will oversee these zones and sectors.

“Unlawful assembly (189(2)), rioting (191(2)), disobeying an order issued by a public servant (223), and obstructing or injuring someone in any public way (285),” Shrawan Kumar stated in the press release.
