Watch:  Matheesha Pathirana show her batting prowess at the net with some delicious strokes

Matheesha Pathirana, the speed wonder from Sri Lanka, has been seen practicing his batting technique in the nets, showing that he wants to become an all-round player before the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Pathirana made his debut at the 2022 U-19 World Cup and rapidly established himself as a key member of the Chennai Super Kings bowling unit. He was a replacement player in 2022, but in just 20 matches, he has transformed into a strike bowler for CSK, taking 34 wickets.

With the assistance of a throw-down specialist, Pathirana struck some spectacular shots during his batting practice, as seen on camera.

As he recovers from a shoulder injury, Matheesha Pathirana

The Kandy native is presently recuperating from a shoulder ailment that precluded him from participating in the August ODI series against India. After making an outstanding performance in the T20I series against the same opponent, when he grabbed five wickets in two games, this setback happened. Remarkably, Pathirana did not bowl an over during the innings in the third Twenty20 International against the Men in Blue.

In the seventh over, he was hurting his right shoulder fielding a ball and left the pitch. He did not bowl, although he did come back to field near the conclusion of the inning. He was forced to miss the series in order to carefully control his workload due to the injury, which has been a recurrence since the last ODI World Cup.
