"Subah bheege huye badaam khaate ho ki nahi?" - Virat Kohli asks Rohit Sharma via head coach Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli have been the talk of the internet since Wednesday morning, September 18, due to their amicable banter ahead of the first Test match against Bangladesh, which begins on Thursday. Within minutes, the entire interview’s teaser went viral on social media, giving the cricket community something interesting to discuss over morning tea.

In a video that the BCCI posted, Gambhir and Kohli had a talk that was full of happiness, laughing, nostalgia, and admiration for each other’s games. As the conversation came to an end, Gambhir disclosed that Indian captain Rohit Sharma would be his next guest. The head coach also enquired as to whether Virat had any queries for Rohit.

The two broke into giggles as Virat asked the Nagpur native a straightforward yet amusing question.

The following is the conclusion of Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir’s discussion regarding Rohit Sharma:

Gambhir: Rohit (Sharma) will be the next visitor. What questions do you want me to put to Rohit then? What ought to be the first thing you ask him?

Kohli: I believe that Rohit’s question is quite straightforward: “If he eats soaked almonds every morning, laughs,” then “bheege huye badaam khaate ho ya nahi.”

Gambhir: Jagah raat ke gyarah baje ki subah gyarah baje? (11 a.m. or evening?)

Kohli: Haa dekhna, kahi AM ka PM na ho jaaye (haha, both laugh) – please confirm if it’s 11 am or pm. Thus, Rohit, this is the question for you.

The greatest Indian knock ever during the Asia Cup was against Pakistan: On Kohli’s 183, Gambhir

“I witnessed your debut. produced arguably the best one-day innings by an Indian ever after making a really good, crucial knock against the West Indies in the Champions Trophy in South Africa (England) on a challenging wicket, up against a formidable attack. Not just from a viewpoint, as guys have double hundreds,” Gambhir informed Kohli.

“It’s the best innings I’ve seen because of the attack and the calibre of opposition. We’re chasing 300+ against Pakistan.” You have therefore gone a long way. He went on, “Those are really special things, and most importantly, the legacy you have left for the next generation to carry on, and how you have taken Indian cricket forward.”
