Although Adam Zampa is Australia’s preferred spinner in limited-overs cricket, the 32-year-old has never participated in a Test match in his career. Nathan Lyon has held the position for the past ten years, with Mitchell Swepson, Todd Murphy, and Matthew Kuhnemann occasionally being regarded as second spinners. Zampa has been an afterthought and is unimportant in the grand picture of red-ball cricket, despite having been instrumental in Australia winning two world titles.
Even though Zampa is aware of how difficult it will be for him to break into the red-ball squad, he insisted that he still has the desire to play Test cricket. Playing in the Ashes is undoubtedly one of the greatest accomplishments for any Australian or English cricket player, and Zampa still has something to prove. He may never play the Ashes because, although a white-ball star, he did not enjoy the same level of success in red-ball cricket.
In all likelihood, I won’t play in an Ashes match in my career. That’s alright with me. I don’t think it’s a chance (for me) to play in England or to play in Australia against England, but we have a lot of Test cricket and there’s still some desire to play that, Zampa was cited by Yahoo Sports as saying.

The spinner also discussed the intense rivalry between the two dominant cricketing nations, emphasising how great it is to defeat England every time. He believes Australia will take home a trophy and win the forthcoming five-match ODI series.

“I believe that rivalry adds depth to games in any sport, and the Ashes are a prime example of this.” Although this specific series is a little different, competition is always vital, and the series against England is usually fantastic.
