When Jasprit Bumrah was in Chennai, we gave him with the Rajni treatment: Ravichandran Ashwin

India has always been recognised for having an abundance of world-class hitters, but according to Ravichandran Ashwin, the quality and depth of the nation’s bowling resources have improved significantly in recent years.

The second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket for India, who hailed one of his teammates as a generational talent, showed his respect for the player without naming him.

“India has always been a batsman-dominated nation, and that will never change, but I’m really thrilled that we are commemorating Jasprit Bumrah today. Bowler Jasprit Bumrah is one of a kind. Speaking to Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, Ashwin stated, “We should celebrate him even more.”

The off-spinner for Tamil Nadu further emphasised the affection and regard Chennai residents have for bowlers by bringing up an incident in which Bumrah received the ‘Rajni treatment,’ a degree of esteem typically reserved for legendary figures like Rajnikanth.

Chennaians have a great deal of respect for bowlers. Four or five days ago, he was here as the main guest for an event. We treated him like a Rajni. We give bowlers excellent treatment. Ashwin went on, “He need to be treated like a champion.

Bumrah was named by Ashwin as the most valuable Indian cricket player at the time. After India won the T20 World Cup in June for the first time in 17 years, the right-arm bowler was named Player of the Tournament.

The off-spinner came to the conclusion, “I don’t want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now.”

Ravichandran Ashwin returns to action against Bangladesh

The 37-year-old, who took on England in his 100th Test match earlier this year, is about to make his national team comeback after a six-month hiatus. He gets included in India’s 16-man team for the opening Test match of their two-match series against Bangladesh.

The first Test is scheduled to take place at the storied MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday, September 19. India would like to expand their lead over second-place Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table with a dominant performance against the Tigers. India is currently atop the standings.
