England vs Australia T20I - Series drawn after match abandonment

Those hosting Australia, England’s bitter rivals, pushed England to draw their three-game Twenty20 International series. The game was called off before a ball was bowled due to the same, which was caused by intense rain. The first Twenty20 International was won by Australia by a margin of 28 runs.

Nevertheless, England levelled the scores and defeated the Australians in the second Twenty20 International. On September 15, both teams prepared for the series finale and were scheduled to play at Manchester’s Old Trafford.

The match had to be called off due to persistent rain, and both teams will now concentrate on the ODI series. It is important to remember that England and Australia will play five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on September 19, 21, 24, 27, and 29.

It is noteworthy that Jos Buttler will not be playing for England in the ODI series; instead, the team will be captained by star batsman Harry Brook. Liam Livingstone will also be the focus of many eyes. The talented all-rounder was initially left out of the ODI team, but was added when Buttler was declared injured.

After winning the T20I series Player of the Series award, Livingstone recently spoke about his recent exploits and revealed that he has begun to have pleasure in playing cricket.

Livingstone told Sky Sports, “I’m back enjoying my cricket because I’ve enjoyed being a bit more involved and getting a chance with both the bat and the ball with some of the boys being away.”

“The atmosphere has changed, and I’ve been having a great time playing cricket. My goal is to participate in the game to the fullest extent possible. It’s not something I’ve always been able to do, lowering the order. I’ve made every effort to complete it. Whenever I’m told to bat, I’ll bat there. I hope I’ve demonstrated that playing higher up the order is beneficial for me, but I want to play for England for as long as I can,” he continued.
