Aakash Chopra believes the Mumbai Indians run with Rohit Sharma is finished

It’s thought that Rohit Sharma and the Mumbai Indians have an unclear relationship. The great Indian hitter is reportedly departing the team before the 2025 IPL season, despite the fact that he was spotted at Anant Ambani’s (the Mumbai Indians owner) wedding. Former cricket player Aakash Chopra thinks the rumours have enough validity, despite the fact that nothing has been proved and they are only reports.

The 46-year-old thinks that before the new season begins, Rohit would be leaving Mumbai. Notably, the team has won five IPL titles under his direction. However, he lost his captaincy ahead of the IPL 2024, and Hardik Pandya took over, which caused a lot of unrest in the team’s camp. Veteran players like Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav were also not happy, and it had an impact on their performance as Mumbai ended the season bottom of the table.

Though anything can happen, I don’t think Rohit Sharma will stay on this job.

Given his age, Chopra pointed out that the franchise might possibly allow Rohit to go. He thinks they might let the opener go since he might not play cricket again for three years. He made it clear, though, that this will never happen with MS Dhoni because of the very distinct nature of his relationship with the Chennai Super Kings.

“Is he going to stay or go? That’s a serious query. In my opinion, he won’t stay. Unless your name is MS Dhoni, whoever is retained will be with the understanding that he will stay with you for three years. While the stories of MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings are significantly different, Chopra stated on his YouTube channel, “I feel like Rohit Sharma at MI might leave MI or he might leave himself.”

Although I don’t know anything, I have a feeling that Rohit will be freed. He could visit someone at the trade window; he might not attend the auction, but in the event that he does, he might be observed there. “I think his time with the Mumbai Indians is coming to an end,” he continued.
