On Tuesday, August 15, as India commemorates its 77th Independence Day, members of the cricket community used their social media accounts to send their best wishes to the people of the country.
A large number of people sent tweets on their ‘X’ handle (formerly known as Twitter) to wish their countrymen on the important occasion, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, former batter Suresh Raina, and flamboyant batter Jemimah Rodrigues.
It is important to note that only a select few changed their “display picture” (DP) to the national flag, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and captain Rohit Sharma. Following his call for people to hoist the tricolor at their houses and alter their profile images on social media to the tricolor as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did this.
On July 4th, 2023, cricket players sent their best wishes.

India Team is preparing for the 2023 Asia Cup.
The national team’s visit of the West Indies came to an end after losing the fifth T20I, which was the series-deciding match. The Windies triumphed in their first T20I series against team India since 2017 with a final score of 3-2.
The critical Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup will now be the focus of Team India, as their campaign is due to start on September 2. In their opening ACC match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka, the Men in Blue, captained by Rohit Sharma, will square off against arch-rivals Pakistan.
In addition, Rohit Sharma and company will begin play in the keenly awaited ODI World Cup on October 8 when they take on five-time champion Australia at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The high-stakes match between India and Pakistan in the expensive event will be held on October 14 at Ahmedabad’s illustrious Narendra Modi Stadium.
The roster for the Asia Cup will likely be announced by the BCCI in the upcoming days. It is important to note that the think tank will presumably support a core lineup that will compete in both the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
