Mohammed Siraj

On Day 2 of the final of the ICC World Test Championship, the bowlers were finally able to get wickets, which was good news for Indian fans. Australia started the day in a strong position at 327/3, but India kept them from scoring more than 500 runs and got them all out for 469.

During the game, Indian seamer Mohammed Siraj got his 50th wicket in Test cricket, which is a big deal.

During the second session of the day, he broke Nathan Lyon’s stumps, making him his 50th target. The right-arm seamer also got rid of Pat Cummins by catching him at extra cover. This ended Australia’s inning with a score of 469. The 29-year-old was India’s best bowler. He ended with four wickets and 108 runs against him, while Mohammed Shami (122) and Shardul Thakur (83) each took two wickets.

Earlier on Day 1, Australia was in charge after Steve Smith and Travis Head put together a huge 285-run stand. During the second session, the score was 76/3 when the two got together at the plate. Their brilliant stand moved the inning forward. Head played a knock that was a counterattack, and he found limits all over the ground. The southpaw got to 50 in 60 balls and then got to 100 in 106 balls, making him the first batter to get to 100 in a WTC final.

With a 285-run stand, Smith and Head make it hard for India to win.
At the other end, Steve Smith played second fiddle to his partner and kept making things hard for the team he liked to beat. The 34-year-old got his ninth century against India and reached 2000 runs in Test cricket against them.

Head ended up scoring an amazing 163 with the help of 25 fours and a six in just 174 balls, while Smith got 121. Alex Carey had a good inning, scoring 48 (69), which helped his team pass the 450-run mark when they were playing with the last few players. The openers for India, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, were out early, making it hard for India to come back with a big score to match Australia’s big one.
