I have good memories of the final in 2011, and I can't wait to do it again: Virat Kohli

In 2023, Virat Kohli will play in his fourth ODI World Cup. India is getting ready to host the ODI World Cup for the first time on its own. The big event will start on October 5. After losing in the semifinals of both the 2015 and 2019 tournaments, India will try to go all the way in their home event.

When Virat Kohli played in the 2011 World Cup, he was only 22 years old. He got off to a great start with a 100 not out in 83 balls against Bangladesh in Dhaka. In the finals, when Delhi was up against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and under a lot of pressure, the batter showed a lot of wisdom by making a crucial knock of 35 runs. Before MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh won the game for India by six wickets as they chased 275, India was in a bad spot at 31/2. His important innings helped them get back on track.

Kohli recently said that he can’t wait to play in another 50-over World Cup in Mumbai. On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) made the World Cup schedule public. India will have nine league games at nine different places. On November 2, India is set to play one of the qualified teams in Mumbai.

“I’m really excited to play in Mumbai. Virat Kohli told Star Sports, “I have good memories of the 2011 final, and I’m looking forward to doing it all over again.”

On November 15, the first semifinal will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The second semifinal will be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

India and Pakistan will play each other on October 15. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India and Pakistan will play each other. The match will take place on October 15 at the biggest cricket stadium in the world.

At the 2011 ODI World Cup in Mohali, India and Pakistan played in the semifinals. In the first innings, the team led by MS Dhoni made 260/9 in 50 overs. Pakistan lost the game by 29 runs in the end. Sachin Tendulkar was named Player of the Match for scoring 85 runs in 115 balls.
