At Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on August 31, Pak vs Ban played their second and last Test match of the series. This match followed the hosts’ humiliating 10-wicket loss in the first Test at this same location. The opening day of the contest was totally ruined by the persistent rain. The game, which was originally slated to last five days, has now been shortened to four days.
Najmul Hossain Shanto called the toss successfully and chose to field first, starting the match. Opening batsman Abdullah Shafique was bowled out by Taskeen Ahmed in the sixth over of the innings, setting up a disastrous start for Pakistan.
Shan Masood, the squad captain, and Saim Ayub took the lead in getting the team back on track. The two left-handers stitched together an important partnership of 107 runs as soon as they began hitting boundaries and keeping the scoreboard moving. Masood left the field after hitting two boundaries and a brilliant 69 from 69 balls. In no time at all, Ayub discovered that he was strolling back to the pavilion. With four boundaries and two sixes during his innings, the southpaw scorched 58 runs.
Star batsman Babar Azam, who had difficulty in the opening Test match, showed some promise by hitting a 31 off 77 balls. After making a remarkable century in the first Test match, Saud Shakeel left the pitch with only 16 runs added to his total.
Attempting to form a collaboration with Salman Agha, 29-year-old Muhammad Rizwan became Taskeen’s third victim of the day. Agha, however, continued to hit from the opposite side and amassed a useful 54 runs. The visitors swiftly closed up Pakistan’s tail after Agha was dismissed, bowling them out for 274 runs.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was Bangladesh’s main wrecker, skilfully picking a fantastic fifer with the ball. Ahmed concluded with 3/57, taking one wicket apiece from Shakib Al Hasan and Nahid Rana.

After just two overs at bat, the tourists were 10/0 thanks to Shadman Islam (6*) and Zakir Hasan (0*). The next day, the two will bat again, but their side is still behind by 264 runs.
