Due to poor communication and ineffective planning, the Bengaluru stampede happened on June 4 during the RCB’s IPL 2025 win celebrations.
Poor crowd control and insufficient police presence swiftly turned what started out as a happy event into a deadly one.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda was suspended following public outcry. Two high-ranking officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Secretary A. Shankar and Treasurer E.S. Jairam, resigned on June 7 as a result of the incident.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) one day before to the internal meeting. According to KSCA President Raghuram Bhat, the investigative authorities have not yet been in touch with the association. He added that they are ready and willing to work together if needed.
